Singapore Revisit

Speaking of Singapore, those glorious memories of my childhood did ring a bell! Once again, I finally had another chance to visit the titan of Asia. This time, I accompanied my brother-cousin, who was just like my son, to visit this wonderful place!
Most of the time I travel alone, so of course, it is time to travel with family or friends and get a sweet balance! The seven-day trip to Singapore is an exploration of the world for my young cousin who just turned 18.
We stayed at the most popular hotel—Marina Bay Sands for six nights. While entering the room,

The Honorable Memory, Singapore

Our glorious accomplishments will stay with us eternally.

Oh, Singapore! I could always recollect the touching moments and thrilling excitements!!!
At the age of eight, I participated in the Sino-Japanese Junior Composition Competition held by YAMAHA. I was lucky enough to be in the finals and had several concert tours in Taiwan. What’s more, fortunately, I was selected as the representative of Taiwan and headed to Singapore to participate in the first Asian Oceanic Junior Original Concert, performing our own originals with representatives of the other six countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, and Australia.

The Journey of the Soul

Every voyage is a journey of the soul.

I have been living abroad for so many years and traveling so many times, still, expectations of every trip never wane. Every time, I couldn’t help but wonder that how much I could enhance my inner self, how much myths could be unlocked, how many pieces could be reorganized, how much impurities could be deposited, how many horizons would be expanded, and how much calm I could obtain!
Everyone grows in a miscellaneous way. Some grow up in the integration of gender relations, others grow up in the tension of parent-child relationship,

Solo Traveler: What a personality, Dublin!

Bars in rain

Dublin, the capital of Ireland, emits a peculiar atmosphere. It is the merge of industrial decadence and rustic gloom. The weather in Dublin is just like London, where it rains all the time.
Speaking of Ireland, the most famous music figure is definitely U2! They were middle school classmates and used to hang together. Out of the blue, they have become world famous rock stars!! On my way from the airport to the hotel, we passed by the school where they went to, and the taxi driver even helped me get some photos.

Age is just a number

I believe that we all have once heard about the saying: Money is merely a series of numbers in the eyes for rich people. The psychology behind this is based on the sense of the security of rich people. They stand far above money and rise up with majestic wings.
I think the concept for “Age” should likewise be the same. In the face of the irreversible phenomenon of physiological growth, our mindsets are what truly matters.
As time goes by and experiences of life continue to add on, one could easily show a worldly and humble empathy. Our eyes would,

The Ability developed from Traveling Alone: Stay Calm When in Peril

Castle in heavy rain

Continuing the previous two articles, “The ability of solo traveler,” this one aims to share “Stay calm when in peril.”
In 2017, I went on a trip to the country of the fairy tale—Prague. On the hill, there was the world’s largest castle “Prague Castle”.
As I admired the scenery, I slowly climbed up the mountain top.
Outside the ancient castle, a huge square resided, and a stage was being built in the middle of the square. When I took a closer look…wow! It turned out that there was a classical Jazz crossover performance by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the Czech Philharmonic in the evening.

Home, Sweet Home

Home and Inner Child

Starting from the age of 20, most of the time, I have lived abroad. Therefore, the time I spent in Taiwan was not much, and let alone my hometown, Taichung.
After all these years, even though my personality has already been integrated into many westernized thinkings, aesthetics, and behavioral patterns. After all, growing up in Taiwan, spending so many important and critical periods such as childhood and teenagehood here, I still own fresh and genuine memories of my hometown and my childhood. All of the great times are always so profound and they are deeply rooted in my heart.

The Ability Developed from Traveling Alone: Flexibility

Traveling alone is the best chance to exercise your “inner muscles”.

In addition to the “Intuitions” that I have shared before, this time I’m going to talk about the ability to “Flexibility”.
Keep your brain nimble at all times
Anything could happen once you are in an exotic place and nothing is familiar with you. Therefore, this is the moment that calm is your only true friend. Then, you have to play it by ear and try to come up with any possible solution.
I could still recall my adventure of a performance trip to Rome.

The Ability Developed from Traveling Alone: The Power of Intuition

The key point of traveling alone is not just entertainment but life training.

For all these years, I could literally conclude that all my “Solo traveler” journeys are like life training courses. Among all the abilities that I have acquired, there is one which impresses me the most: The Power of Intuition!

When I travel alone, I’ve got no one to talk to, no one to discuss with, and no connection with any passersby around me. I could only be in my own world and rely on my own thoughts. However, this is exactly the best moment to listen to the deepest voice within your heart.

Solo Traveler: Oh Well… Marseille

Old Port City — What a bummer!

After traveling so many places in the world, I have never felt so uncomfortable with any European city, and Marseille…would sadly be the first one…

Having spent a luxurious birthday and Christmas in Monaco, the next stop I planned to go was Marseille. Before departure, the concierge told me to be very careful since the place was quite disordered, and especially, I was traveling alone. Therefore, I dare not to take the train after hearing such comments about Marseille. I immediately booked a private driver. Soon we had arrived at Marseille.
